The Conference

The Conference is jointly organised by the Politecnico di Torino and the Universita' di Chieti-Pescara "G.d'Annunzio" with support from:

i) the School of Economics of the Universita' "G.d'Annunzio";
ii) the MURST-Cofin project "Quantum Probability and Infinite Dimensional Analysis";
iii) the MURST-Cofin project "Stochastic Processes, Stochastic Calculus and Applications".

The aim of the Conference is the following. Information Geometry has attained a full maturity as a mathematical theory centered around the notions of dual geometries and monotone metrics associated to divergencies; nevertheless much work is still needed to produce a complete theory for the non-parametric, non-dominated and non-commutative cases. Therefore on one hand the purpose of the Conference is to describe the state of the art in Information Geometry and, at the same time, to present the challenging mathematical open problems that the theory has to face. On the other hand the present meeting is an occasion to survey the many applications of Information Geometry in a number of different fields as: Statistics, Information Theory, Economics, Neural Nets, Statistical Mechanics and Quantum Phyics.
We encourage people willing to participate to the conference to register not later than 10 may 2002.
